High School Reading Challenge update

Last week, Ms. Holster’s Principles of Agriculture students explored the importance of FFA Official Dress, a symbol of leadership, tradition, and unity in the National FFA Organization. To make the lesson meaningful, students designed their very own FFA jackets, giving them a hands-on connection to the values and pride of being part of FFA.

We are proud of our Seahawk students as they learn not only agricultural skills, but also the traditions that connect them to generations of FFA members across the country.

Dear Seahawk Nation,

I hope everyone is gearing up for an exciting season ahead! I’m writing to inform you about an important update from the University Interscholastic League (UIL) and a new State Law—Senate Bill 2929—that affects how spectator conduct is managed at our athletic events.

What’s changing?

Under SB 2929, starting with the 2025–2026 school year, referees, judges, and game officials at all UIL‑sanctioned or school‑sponsored competitions are now authorized to eject spectators immediately if their behavior is deemed disruptive or inappropriate—without issuing a verbal warning or waiting for repeated misconduct. This change removes previous procedural steps that delayed officials from taking swift action to maintain safety and respect during events.

The goal of this new directive is to support a safer, more positive environment for everyone—our athletes, coaches, families, officials, and fans. It empowers officials to act decisively in response to unacceptable behavior, helping to preserve the integrity and enjoyment of the competition.

Why this matters to our community:
It reinforces that respect and sportsmanship are non-negotiable at Seahawk events.

Officials now have the authority to take immediate action if necessary, helping to ensure a safe and supportive atmosphere.

As part of UIL and school district policy, we’ll continue to communicate expectations clearly and graciously—knowing that swift action will be taken if lines are crossed.

Please help us uphold the Seahawk way of supporting our teams with pride, passion, and respect! Let’s cheer loud, lead by example, and show everyone what true Seahawk Nation sportsmanship looks like.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication.
