PreK kicks off Texas Public Schools Week saying Hats off to Our TEXAS Education!!

RISD invites you to an incredible opportunity to attend the Parent and Family Symposium – Together We Thrive on Friday, March 21, 2025. This year, it is exciting to have three phenomenal speakers who will make this an unforgettable experience for all the participants.
The Keynote Speaker, Margarita Velasquez, is a local leader from Orange Grove, bringing an inspiring message to the attendees. Additionally, one of the featured breakout speakers, Dr. Palacios, will be providing participants in her session with a free copy of her book. We will also have the opportunity to hear the AMAZING Coach Josh Perez and Jonathan Media, who will lead a breakout session and deliver the closing presentation.
In addition to these incredible speakers, there will be 22 vendor tables filled with valuable resources to support families. This event promises to be an enriching experience, fostering collaboration between schools, parents, and staff.

Last Friday, March 7th, KECHS running Hawks traveled to La Villa to compete in the Cardinal Relays. This was a Varsity Meet only and our athletes did really well competing against larger schools. Roan Bell placed 1st in the 400m and 2nd in the 800m. Matt Mascorro placed 4th in Discus and Manuel Rivera placed 7th in Shot Put. The 4x100m relay placed 3rd and the 4x200m relay placed 5th. Both of these relays were run by Liam Hinojosa, Matt Mascorro, Aaron Ramirez and Ayden Lomas. In the girls division, Jayla Clack placed 3rd in the 200m. Olivia Ramos placed 4th and Nadia LaRosa placed 9th in the 400m. In the 800m Lauren Sandoval placed 6th and Adelina Bell placed 8th. These girls also ran the 1600m with Lauren placing 8th and Adelina placing 10th. Adelina also placed 5th in Triple Jump. Ava Mayberry placed 6th in Shot Put. The 4x100m relay placed 4th, ran by Elizabeth Ivey, Mica Gutierrez, Jayla Clack and Olivia Ramos. The 4x400m relay took the top place finishing in 1st, it was run by Elizabeth Ivey, Olivia Ramos, Adelina Bell and Jayla Clack. We are beyond proud of all our athletes that competed at this meet. Next up is the Cowboy Invitational in Premont this Wednesday, March 12th.

Friday March 7, The Lady Seahawks beat the Premont Cowgirls in 5 innings in their district opener, with a score of 13-3. The Lady Seahawks had a combined of 5 hits. Jaz Reyes and Leila Allen were in the circle. Destiny Reyes threw out 3 base runners who were trying to steal 2nd base. Great Job ladies, keep up the hard work.
The next softball game will be Tuesday March 11 in Bruni at 6pm

Congratulations goes out to Sr. C.J Silva for being selected as a South Texas Baseball Hitter of the Week. C.J has been on fire at the plate totaling 6 hits in 7 at bats. He also came up clutch in our game against Woodsboro with a go ahead 2 RBI single to give us the win.
Seahawks hit the road to Odem this Tuesday and return home Friday against Ingleside. Come out and support!

Today is School Maintenance Appreciation Day, and Riviera ISD would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to the incredible men who go above and beyond to keep our district running smoothly. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment are truly invaluable. These team members start early in the mornings and are always on standby, ready to assist whenever needed.
