Today High School XC competed at their District meet in Premont. Everyone went out and did their best! Varsity Boys has two runners advancing to Regionals-Roan Bell placed 9th overall and Kaleb DeLeon placed 10th. The team placed 4th overall and consisted of Bell, DeLeon, Romeo Gutierrez, Leroy Salinas, Brenden Soloman, Ralph Guevara and Kyle Mooney. Varsity Girls has two advancing, also. Adelina Bell placed 5th and Katélina Rendón placed 7th. The girls team placed 5th overall and consisted of Bell, Rendón, Mica Gutierrez, Zoey Ochoa, and Casandra Arroyo. We are beyond proud of each of these athletes and their tremendous work ethic. Regionals will be on October 24th in Corpus Christi.

DeLaPaz Middle School was ready to compete at their District XC Meet. In the 7th grade girls division Molly Johnson placed 4th, Bethany Salinas placed 11th, Athena Zapata 15th and Bailey Ivey 16th. In the 7th grade boys division Jake White placed 3rd, Joshua Ochoa 4th, William Clements 9th, Oleg Rodriguez 16th and Mason Johnson 17th. This boys team also earned 2nd place Team overall! In the 8th grade girls division MyKenzie Davis placed 16th. Isaac Gomez ran to a first place District Champion finish in the 8th grade boys division, while Edwin Lopez placed 8th, Preston Johnson 15th and Remi Perryman 19th. We are incredibly proud of all these athletes. The tremendous effort they put into practices truly paid off. Way to go MS XC on a very successful season!!

On Saturday, 9/30, XC traveled to Premont to compete at the Cowboy Invitational XC Meet. Everyone had great races and some individuals even earned medals to show for all their hard work. 7th graders Joseph Ochoa and Jake White placed 2nd and 5th respectively. 7th grade girls had Molly Johnson place 2nd and Bethany Salinas place 11th. In the 8th grade boys division, Isaac Gomez placed 4th and Edwin Lopez placed 8th. In the Varsity Girls division, Katélina Rendón placed 5th and Adelina Bell placed 7th. Varsity Boys earned an overall 4th place finish as a team, consisting of Roan Bell (7th), Kaleb DeLeon (11th), Brenden Solomon, Romeo Gutierrez, Leroy Salinas, Ralph Guevara and Kyle Mooney. Next up is the 32-2A District Meet in Premont. Middle School will compete on Saturday 10/7 and High School will compete on Monday, 10/9. If you see these hard working individuals make sure to wish them all Good Luck!!
