Keeping our shores beautiful, one piece of litter at a time! This weekend Environmental Club and Band volunteered at the community Beach Clean-Up at Baffin Bay.
It’s time to pull out your best BBQ recipes! KECHS is proud to announce their 1st Annual Barbeque Cook Off!
With the help of Nanny Elementary and De La Paz Middle School, our KECHS Student Council donated over 200 pounds of food to the Coastal Bend Food Bank.
While delivering our donation, students participated in a cooking class and volunteered in the warehouse.
Did you know…Coastal Band Food Bank services 11 surrounding counties and is one of only 200 in the entire United States & they have vastly grown in the last few years and now provide food for animals. Be on the lookout for a pet food drive near you!

100% ATTENDANCE FOR THE WEEK! Congratulations to all our Nanny Elementary 3rd Graders. They earned a Treat Party and some Fun Time outside for their diligence in showing up every day last week.
Saturday, September 21st, the Seahawk XC teams traveled to Goliad to participate in their 5th Annual Tiger Cross Country Meet held at the Fairgrounds and Park. It was a beautiful course to run on-lots of hills, grass and trees. There were over 30 schools represented at this meet. This week only 3 boys competed in the Varsity Division. They were Brenden Solomon (62), Romeo Gutierrez (80) and Nathan LaRosa (79). Varsity Girls had a full team, Lauren Sandoval (31), Morgan Butler (57), Katelina Rendon (57), Mica Gutierrez (58) and Maisyn Bippert (109). There was a slight blip with the timing system used and Maisyn’s score was not tabulated into the final results. If it would’ve been these girls would have been 12th out of 16 teams.
JVBoys’ Preston Johnson (59) and Remi Perryman (63) did really well. JVGirls, Izzy Couch (27) and Casandra Arroyo (44) also ran very well.
Middle School 7th and 8th grade boys ran combined. Those running were Jake White (9), Jerrod Gallardo (64), Jamie Gonzales (75), Logan Colley (79), Dairrin Huff (85), Jason Olivarez (107) and Mason Johnson (130). These boys placed 10th as a team. The girls running were Aveline Perez (4), Molly Johnson (52), Emilie Russek (53) and Tayla Arroyo (72). All Middle School runners did great! Next up for Middle School will be their District Meet on 10/5 in Premont.
