RISD Library celebrated students who read at least 5 books from the Lone Star list by December 13. The students had a “special” guest, Emily Kalinec from TX Tech University. She taught them how to decorate sugar cookies shaped like a star and the state of Texas. They enjoyed hot chocolate while decorating their cookies. They also received a bag of goodies. We look forward to celebrating again in April with students that have read at least 10 Lone Star books by April 1.

It’s Space Day in Mrs. Emmons' 1st grade class to wrap up their unit on astronomy. One small step for man, one giant leap for our Little Seahawks. 🔭👩🚀🚀

Nanny Elementary 5th Grade students were pleased to show appreciation and gratitude by presenting a bag of goodies to custodians Mrs. Nina and Mrs. Carmen and to maintenance-man Mr. Faustino. Our 5th graders coordinated and planned the entire project. Here at Nanny Elementary, we are building leaders who impact their community.

Thomas Edison would have been proud of our 5th-grade scholars in Mrs. Salas' science class. Students were learning about electrical conduction and experimented with a science lab on creating electrical machines.
