Seahawk Band Students Excel
On Friday February 28th, these Kaufer students competed at the UIL Solo contest held at TAMUK. From left to right, earning first division medals on their solos Adam Harbison class III tuba solo and Jathan Ten Cate class I horn solo. Also competing were Dalilah Sandoval on flute, Desiree Quesada on clarinet, Alyssa Sanchez on bass clarinet, and Zeke Gonzalez on baritone saxophone. Congratulations to them for their hard work. On Saturday March 1st, these three MS band students competed at the UIL Solo contest held at TAMUK, earning first division medals on their Class III solos. We are proud to announce that Dr. Amber White, Principal of Kaufer ECHS, has been awarded the Distinguished Administrator for 2025 by the Texas Business Professionals of America (BPA)! Out of hundreds of eligible administrators from over 400 chapters across the state of Texas, Dr. White was one of only two administrators selected for this prestigious honor.

Last Thursday, Feb. 27th, Middle School Track and Field traveled to Odem to participate in the JH Owls Relays. This was the first meet of the season and these Seahawks showed up to compete! We are very proud of how they all did. This Wednesday they will be traveling to TAMUK to compete in the SG Lions JH Relays.

High School Track and Field traveled to Odem to compete in the David Soto Relays on Saturday, March 1st. Our top finishers in the boys' division were Matt Mascorro who placed 1st in Discuss and the 4x2 relay team that placed 3rd. In the Girls division, the 4x2 relay team placed 2nd; Lauren Sandoval placed 2nd in the 800m and 1600m runs; Katelina Rendon placed 2nd in Triple Jump and Jayla Clack placed 2nd in the 200m run. This was the Seahawks' first meet of the season and they did very well. They will next travel to La Villa on Friday, March 7th.


Big congrats go out to the Riviera Boys Basketball Team. They were well represented in this year's All-District Selections.
The awards are as follows:
Matthew Mascorro - Co-Offensive MVP
C.J Silva and Owen Bryant - 1st Team All District
Darren Davila and Aaron Ramirez - 2nd Team All District.






This past weekend the Riviera Seahawks took part in the La Villa Tournament where they clinched a tournament championship. The boys finished with a 4-0 record only allowing 1 run over the course of the tournament. Earning All-Tourney for the Seahawks were Jose Guevara and Sef Gutierrez.
The Seahawks have two games at home this week starting Tuesday against Raymondville and Friday against Woodsboro. Come out and support your Seahawks, action starts with JV at 5 and Varsity at 7.


As we end CTE Month, we would like to recognize Katy Williams. She is a veteran teacher, and equips our students with needed knowledge to help them succeed in society after their school days end. We are very lucky to have Mrs. Williams as an educator as she is knowledgeable in such a wide variety of areas and truly believes in capitalizing on “teachable moments”. We thank you for all that you do for our students!


It is with great pleasure and appreciation that we announce Riviera ISD's Bus Driver of the Year, Ricardo Gonzalez II, based on the votes of our students. The role of a bus driver requires immense dedication and heart, and Rick exemplifies these qualities every day. He consistently demonstrates a commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, arriving each day with a positive attitude, regardless of the weather. His warm smile and unwavering dedication ensure that every student starts their day on a positive note. We are truly honored to have Rick as a valued member of our team!

Riviera Seahawk pitcher Sef Gutierrez has been chosen as one of the 2A Pitchers of the Week by Texas High School Baseball. Nominees were submitted from 2A schools from across the state. A huge congratulations goes out to this young man!



February is CTE Month! We are very lucky to have such amazing educators within our CTE departments. We would like to recognize the hard work of this special team throughout the month. Christina Yeary is new to our district this year, and has offered our Junior High students great hands-on opportunities and knowledge for every day life.
