Riviera FFA was proudly represented in the Kleberg-Kenedy County Junior Livestock Show Parade Friday, Jan. 6. Our float won the Grand Marshall’s Choice Award! Also representing Riviera FFA in the parade were Riviera FFA Queen’s Contestants: Maci Rogers, Kami Albus and Gianna Cantu. The KKJLS Parade kicked off the 2023 Kleberg-Kenedy County Junior Livestock Show. Please wish all exhibitors luck as they begin competing in this year’s stock show.
JANUARY DATES TO REMEMBER
There will be no school on Monday, January 16th, for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hoilday.
Today, De La Paz Middle School students competed in the 2023 District 32-AA UIL Meet. The students competed in Spelling, Impromptu Speaking, Oral Reading, Modern Oratory, and Art Smart. They had a blast competing against all the other schools in our district. Our DLP middle school students are great representatives!

Students having fun in Mrs. Osorio's classroom learning new academic vocabulary through kinesthetic hand motions.
Students in Interior Design I are creating a floor plan for a kitchen.
Each student has a client that they must design and decorate a kitchen to meet the client’s needs.
Students spent this week creating the paper floor plan and will then turn their paper plan into a computer design that will give a three-dimensional view of the design.
They will apply design and detail to these plans.
Principles of Architecture students are creating a floor plan for a house. Students must meet project guidelines and apply drafting skills, dimensions, and architectural symbols and measurements.
Students will transform their paper design into a computer draft and have the ability to see their created design in three dimensions.

Calling all Riviera ISD alumni, we will be having a weekend full of activities on Feb. 10 & 11. Come on out and join in on the fun. Homerun Derby and ‘Ol Timer game will be Friday, Feb. 10 and the Alumni Game and Brisket Plate Sale will be on Saturday, Feb. 11.

With baseball season right around the corner there is some important information to share with parents and supporters. The SportsYou code is posted below for players and parents to get any updates that may be happening in the season. Some upcoming important dates are as followed.
Saturday 1/7 from 10am - 12pm we will have a field clean up. All parents, players, and supporters are welcome.
Wednesday 1/11 6pm-6:45pm parent meeting in the cafeteria.
Friday 1/20 first day of practice!

I am hereby ordering the opening of our FEMA Dome located at H.M. King High School in Kingsville Texas - to assist those that need a warm facility during this Major cold-front that is quickly approaching
The doors will officially open this afternoon (Dec. 22nd) at 5 PM
They will remain open until further notice
We will also supply sleeping cots - so please ensure you bring your own bedding, non-perishable snacks & beverages, and any needed medication

Riviera ISD is proud to announce the hiring of the new Head Football coach, Raul “Tinker” Villarreal III!
Coach Tinker is in his 28th year of teaching. He is Texas State Board Certified in Speech and Physical Education.
For the past 27 years he has been a Head powerlifting coach, coaching 25 individual State Champions, 5 State Championship Teams and 5 National Championship Teams.
As an All State running back he played football for Port Isabel Tarpons, Tarleton State University, and Semi Pro Ironman Texas League.
In Seahawk Country we are ready for History making years to come!

Junior, Skyler Ramos was selected to the 2022-2023 South Texas Pre-season High school Softball All-Star Team that is sponsored by the Corpus Christi Hooks. The banquet will be held at the Omni in Corpus Christi Tx, on January 26th, the All-Star Game will take place once playoffs have been completed.
De La Paz Middle School Student Council students lead the Pledge of Allegiance for our District's December School Board Meeting. They also presented the Board with gift baskets as a sign of appreciation for all their tireless work on behalf of the district. Students pictured are: Angel Utley, Izzy Reyes, Evan Mayberry, Adelina Bell, Hadley Guevara and Lila Smith. Student Council sponsor is Rhonda Yaklin.
