Senior Year

Senior Year. Congratulations! This is your last year of high school. This is what KECHS has prepared you for. Life After High School. Enjoy your Senior Year with all activities you can be a part of.
If you are pursuing the Associate’s Degree, this is the final stretch. Do not become complacent with your level of work. Continue to push yourself until graduation. This is when your transcript becomes FINAL.
You will have three pieces of paper to show for your high school career: Diploma, Transcript, and your Resume. Make sure they reflect you accurately. If they don’t, talk to your school counselor and advisor about the benefits of the SAT and ACT.
Your core classes will be the following:
English IV or CBC’s ENGL 2322/2323
PreCal or CBC’s MATH 1314/1324
Anatomy or Scientific Research Design
Government and Economics
For all other courses you will follow the Personal Graduation Plan you created your Freshman Year. You must have an Endorsement to graduate on the Distinguish Plan. You by this point should have taken a CTE Level 1, CTE Level 2, CTE Level 3 class.
Senior year, you are expected to take CTE Level 4. These classes are:
Ag Equipment
Scientific Research Design
Advanced Animal Science
Vet Medical Applications
Career Prep
Practicum
You can expect to take the following assessments:
TSI: Texas Success Initiative- to be COLLEGE READY you must pass the Reading, Writing, and Math
SAT: The SAT test is for college applications, NCAA Eligibility, and scholarship opportunities
ACT: The ACT is offered off site. This is a second opportunity for college applications, NCAA Eligibility, and scholarship opportunities.

This year is your last year to try a new sport! KECHS has athletics and off-season. Off-season trains you to be ready for when your sport is in season. You will choose from the following sports:
